Picture this: While the rest of SG was catching Zs, our Singapore Police Force (SPF) officers were out there turning crime drama vibes into real-life wins.
From a 21-day multi-agency blitz resulting in the arrests of 1,448 persons to pre-dawn raids across three countries targeting child abuse material networks, our officers don’t just work hard, they work smart.
Need other examples? For enforcement operations, think drones for aerial support and our K-9 besties on the ground.
When it comes to keeping Singapore safe, our officers are the real MVPs. Crime doesn’t sleep – and neither do we.
2. She’s Not Just Your Regular Slay Queen – She’s the Law
Did you know that female officers make up to more than 17% of the SPF – that’s over 1,800 trailblazers shaping the future of policing!
From patrolling the seas to commanding our Police divisions, our women in blue have been breaking barriers since 1949, when just 10 pioneering female officers joined the ranks.
Inspired to make a difference too? In the SPF, we’re all about empowering each other to rise. We don’t gatekeep – we elevate.
3. Booking In and Stepping Up for Singapore
From safeguarding the Bazaar Raya Geylang Serai and keeping our public transport network secure to giving their best at the National Day Parade, our Police National Service (PNS) officers have been all hands on deck in 2024.
Whether it’s scaring off crime during Halloween or managing crowds at the Singapore F1 Grand Prix and Shangri-La Dialogue, our dedicated PNS officers prove that “booking in” is more than a routine – it’s a commitment to protecting our community. Thank you for showing up for Singapore, every step of the way!
4. Putting the Cop in Robocop
Science fiction? More like science fact. Let’s take a peek at the tech tools that help our officers achieve mission success every day.
• Police Security Command’s Training Base: It’s equipped with a 270-degree firing range and customisable training spaces to enhance tactical readiness.
• Traffic Police’s 3D Laser Scanners: These create precise digital accident scene models in 3D, enhancing investigations.
• Special Operation Command’s Drones: Giving the Police Tactical Unit a head’s up in sense-making!
• The Scam-Hunting AI, SATIS: This cybercrime tool took down over 25,000 scam websites in 2023.
• PolCam: Launched in 2012, this tech gamechanger continues to keep a watchful eye in our neighbourhoods.
5. All Heart, No Cap: Our Amazing Police Volunteers
Our Police volunteers serve in a range of volunteer schemes, partnering with us to ensure our streets are safe and making a real difference in our communities!
• Victim Care officers (VCOs): Offering crucial support to victims, VCOs draw on their expertise in social work, psychology, and experience to strengthen the victim care network.
• Volunteers in Blue: These dedicated individuals patrol streets, serve the community and work tirelessly to enhance neighbourhood safety.
• Project PRAISE: Senior citizens are stepping up too! Over 200 senior advocates have reached more than 11,180 elderly folks with crucial anti-scam knowledge.
